First Contact offers people aged 60 and over who live in Lincolnshire advice and services to help them carry on living independently.

What is First Contact?

First Contact is a Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) service that helps older residents to stay safe and independent in their own homes.

Who can use First Contact?

The service is open to anyone aged 60 and over in Lincolnshire.

Why use First Contact?

Getting the advice, information and services you need, when you need them, can be daunting and time consuming. First Contact works with trusted organisations to help you get the support you need, through just one point of contact.

Our key partners include: Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue, District Councils, Adult Social Care (LCC), Age UK Falls Prevention Service, Lincolnshire Police, Citizens Advice Bureau, Transportation Group (LCC), Volunteer Centres, Age UK, Lincolnshire Carers Team (LCC), NHS Health Trainers.

How does First Contact work?

A simple checklist helps to identify the advice and information a customer needs. Once a checklist is completed, we refer the customer to appropriate organisations who then contact the customer within 28 days.

How do I complete a checklist?

Checklists can be completed over the phone on 01522 782172 or online at http://www.firstcontact.org.uk (click on the Get Advice tab). Checklists are available in most public places, such as libraries and GP surgeries. You can request them by calling 01522 782172 or emailing firstcontact@lincolnshire.gov.uk.

Is there a charge for the service?

All information and advice provided is FREE. Some organisations, after providing information and advice, may offer a service and in some cases there may be a charge for this.
